India's Reliance to Supply Explosives & Propellants to Germany's Rheinmetall

Reliance Defence Ltd and Germany's Rheinmetall AG have signed a MoU to establish a strategic partnership in the field of ammunition production.

This collaboration aims to strengthen the supply chain for medium and large-caliber ammunition.

According to Rheinmetall, Under the agreement, Reliance Defence will supply Rheinmetall with explosives and propellants essential for various ammunition types.

The partnership will also include joint marketing activities for selected products and will explore additional opportunities for future cooperation.

To support this collaboration, Reliance Defence will set up a greenfield manufacturing facility as part of the larger Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City (DADC) project in India.The facility is planned to have an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 artillery shells, 10,000 tons of explosives, and 2,000 tons of propellants.
