Northrop Grumman and the Republic of Lithuania’s Ministries of Defence and Finance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance co-production of medium-caliber ammunition in cooperation with Norwegian firm Nammo Defense Systems.
The agreement sets the framework for expanding ammunition manufacturing with Lithuanian industry, supporting the country’s national defense goals and NATO commitments. The collaboration also aims to accelerate delivery timelines for key munitions, strengthen defense supply chains, and support Ukraine’s ongoing defense needs.
Lithuania’s Defence Minister Dovilė Šakalienė said, “This MOU is essential for the development of the national division by 2030 and for strengthening the capabilities of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. It will enhance national strategic autonomy in defense and deepen partnerships with NATO allies the United States and Norway.”
