Indra Acquires Spanish UAS Manufacturer, Aertec DAS

Indra Group has acquired Aertec Defence & Aerial Systems (DAS), a Spanish manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), as part of its strategy to expand in the military drone sector and compete for contracts under the €800 billion ReArm Europe program.

Aertec DAS designs and builds medium-sized tactical drones and is known for its TARSIS UAS family, already tested by the Spanish Armed Forces. The company brings proprietary technology and industrial production capabilities to Indra’s newly established Indra Weapons & Ammunitions division.

The acquisition will support the creation of a drone technology hub in Seville, combining Aertec’s engineering team with Indra’s experience in managing large defense programs.

Drones are a key focus of the ReArm Europe initiative, which identifies them as a strategic capability.
