Russia’s Ministry of Defense has released video of its SKAT 350M unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) directing strikes on a Ukrainian mechanized battalion in the Sumy region.
The UAV detected personnel, armor, and vehicles before passing coordinates to command. Su-34 fighter-bombers and Geran-2 drones then hit the location with UMPK-500 guided bombs and loitering munitions.
The ministry reports the attack destroyed up to 50 Ukrainian troops, an ammunition depot, two U.S.-supplied Abrams tanks, four Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and other equipment.
The SKAT 350M is designed for round-the-clock surveillance, optical and infrared target acquisition, and precision weapon guidance. It can remain airborne for up to four hours and is equipped with reinforced construction for parachute landings. It is being used extensively across the land and maritime fronts, including operations in the Black Sea.
Kalashnikov recently completed a large-scale delivery of SKAT 350M units under a state contract. The drone’s design, featuring a 3.2-meter wingspan and capability to operate in temperatures from -45°C to +45°C, is optimized for durability and survivability in high-intensity combat zones.
