Ukrainian Sniper Eliminates 2 Russian Soldiers from 4KM-New World Record Claimed

A Ukrainian sniper eliminated two Russian servicemen from a distance of 4,000 meters, setting a new world record, media says.

"Incredible accuracy and updating the world record for the range of destruction! A Ukrainian sniper eliminated two Russian servicemen from a distance of 4,000 meters. The bullet went through the window behind which the occupiers were," according a Ukrainian soldier who documented the sniper kill, Mil.in.ua reported.

According to him, the record shot -from a 14.5mm Alligator rifle- was fired on August 14, 2025. Aiming was done “using artificial intelligence” aided by a reconnaissance UAV.

The Alligator is a Ukrainian multi-shot, manually loaded, large-caliber anti-materiel rifle. It was adopted for service in late 2020.

The incident took place in the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd direction, and the shot was fired by a sniper from the combined sniper unit "Pryvid". Over the year of performing combat missions in the defense of this direction, this unit has already destroyed almost 1,000 Russian servicemen.

The previous world record also belonged to a Ukrainian. In November 2023, a Ukrainian sniper from the SBU unit, 58-year-old Vyacheslav Kovalsky, eliminated an invader at a distance of 3,800 meters in the Kherson region. The shot was made from a Ukrainian-made Horizon's Lord multi-caliber sniper rifle.

The initial bullet velocity of the Alligator is 980 m/s, the effective range of the shot is up to 2000 m, and the maximum range of the bullet is up to 7000 m. At a distance of 1.5 km, the bullet can pierce a 10 mm armor plate. The main task of this rifle is to destroy enemy fortifications and equipment, in particular lightly armored ones.

With a total length of 2000 mm, the length of the rifle barrel is 1200 mm. The barrel has 8 rifling with a pitch of 419 mm. The total weight of the rifle without a magazine with cartridges is 22.5 kg.
