Turkish defense company Roketsan announced that the Tayfun Block-4 hypersonic ballistic missile will enter mass production in 2026 following a series of planned test launches next year.

According to Roketsan, intensive test firings for the missile are scheduled for 2025. If performance goals are met and stable data is achieved, full-scale production will begin the following year.

The Tayfun Block-4 is reported to be Turkey’s longest-range domestically developed missile. Measuring 10 meters in length, 938 millimeters in diameter, and weighing around 7,200 kilograms, the new version is equipped with a multi-purpose warhead capable of targeting air defense systems, command centers, hangars, and other military facilities.

While the operational range of the Block-4 remains classified, Turkish media reports suggest a reach of up to 800 kilometers. The missile travels at hypersonic speeds exceeding Mach 5, or more than 6,200 kilometers per hour, making it difficult to track or intercept.

The Tayfun missile family has been under continuous advancement, with the Block-4 emerging as the hypersonic variant designed to enhance range and strike capabilities.

Roketsan has not disclosed further technical details but confirmed that mass production will depend on successful 2025 trials.
