Swiss unmanned aerial systems (UAS) manufacturer ANAVIA, part of the U.A.E.’s EDGE Group, has launched a new headquarters and research facility in Bilten, Switzerland, to advance next-generation unmanned helicopters.

Unveiled in August, this site is ANAVIA’s second location in Switzerland, joining its original production hub in Näfels. The Bilten facility will focus on engineering, prototyping, and platform innovation, while Näfels will remain dedicated to serial production.

Co-CEO Ishan Sahgal said, “Through this dual-hub model, we’re accelerating development cycles, strengthening collaboration with our partners, and advancing the future of autonomous rotorcraft systems.”

The expansion is expected to create new jobs, bringing the company’s combined Swiss workforce to more than 100 employees while contributing to the local aerospace ecosystem.

The facility will also support the development of ANAVIA’s HT-750 unmanned helicopter. The aircraft is a modular heavy-lift platform with 15-hour endurance, a 750 kg payload, and a range exceeding 2,500 km. It is designed for both autonomous and pilot-assisted operations, with applications in cargo and personnel transport.
