Lockheed Martin has won the U.S. Army’s $9.8 billion contract for the production of 1,970 Patriot Advanced Capability–3 Missile Segment Enhancement (PAC-3 MSE) interceptors and related hardware.
This deal is the largest in the history of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Lockheed Martin is ramping up production, with plans to deliver over 600 interceptors in 2025. The company began scaling production nearly two years ahead of the award, supported by internal investments to accelerate output.
The PAC-3 MSE uses direct body-to-body impact to neutralize ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, hypersonic threats, and airborne targets. Unlike traditional blast fragmentation, the interceptor delivers greater kinetic force to destroy incoming threats.
