BAE Systems has joined GM Defense and NP Aerospace under the name Team LionStrike to compete in the United Kingdom’s Land Mobility Programme, an initiative to replace the defence ministry’s aging ground vehicle fleet.
The partnership will combine GM Defense’s commercial truck and sport utility vehicle platforms—including its Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV)—with BAE Systems’ combat systems expertise and NP Aerospace’s compliance integration.
The Land Mobility Programme is intended to provide modern vehicles that can operate across a wide range of missions and terrains. Team LionStrike plans to adapt commercial designs for military use, ensuring they meet the performance and protection requirements of the British Army.
The work will be led by BAE Systems’ Weapon Systems U.K. division, which focuses on developing and supporting combat capabilities for both domestic and international customers.
Team LionStrike will present its offering at the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition in London next week.
