As part of the operational lessons learned in the "Iron Swords" war, Israel has completed tests on a  multi-purpose robot that runs on tracks mounted on the top of high security walls.

The advantages of the rail-mounted robot include: remote detection of people and vehicles, automatic tracking, improved warning capabilities, observation and terrain holding capabilities in difficult visibility conditions, and additional systems and means were integrated that enable remote operational response.

The project combines security and civilian uses and includes robots that receive energy through inductive charging from the track, which allows them to operate 24 hours a day without interruption.

The system does not operate alone, and will be integrated in the near future as part of a defense concept for borders, camps, bases and prisons - which contain means and technologies that together constitute an operational complement.

The new capabilities demonstrated in the experiment constitute a significant leap forward in the ability to deal with the threats developing across the country's borders, as well as internal threats to prisons, security facilities, bases, and more.

Brigadier General Yehuda Al-Makiis, Head of the R&D Unit at the Ministry of Defense: "A rail robot is a unique technological concept, whose significant advantage in relation to the field of robotics, drones and autonomy is the high durability and reliability that such a system can bring to the field. This is a semi-autonomous robotic system that is expected to work for weeks and months continuously with minimal maintenance, which will make facilities and borders safer."
