New Ukraine-made guided aerial bombs (GABs) launched from a MiG-29 Jet have destroyed the Russian position on the front.
Footage of the use of the GAB was published on the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel "Sunflower.”
Two bombs with correction kits hit Russian trenches with high accuracy.
This is probably an aerial bomb with a "Equalizer" glider and correction kit, Ukrainian media reported.
In May 2026, it became known that the Ukrainian Air Force received the first experimental batch of Ukrainian GABs.
"This is not a copy of Western or Soviet solutions, but an original development of Ukrainian engineers to effectively hit targets tens of kilometers deep after launch," the Minister of Defense said at the time.
Development of Ukrainian GABs
In 2025, Ukraine tested a guided aerial bomb from a Su-24 front-line bomber. At the time, it was reported that the weapon was capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 60 kilometers.
This range was achieved through the use of universal planning and correction modules installed on high-explosive aerial bombs.
Previously Ukraine has received guided bombs from the U.S and European nations. However, limited stocks and the laborious process of receiving replenishment forced Ukraine to develop its own guidance kits.
Guided bombs are a low cost means of achieving cruise-missile like accurate hits on enemy positions and are more effective than drones as they carry a higher explosive load.
