ITT Corporation has been awarded its second enhanced night vision goggle (ENVG) production contract from the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center. The company was selected as one of three companies to design, develop and manufacture ENVGs through this follow-on award. The firm-fixed-price contract has a potential value of $260 million. In 2005, ITT was awarded the initial ENVG contract, with the U.S. Army beginning fielding of the units in 2008. The ENVG is the first sensor fused goggle that optically overlays image intensification and thermal infrared imagery in one goggle. ITT has provided over 2,400 ENVG systems to the U.S. Army in support of the soldier with another 6,500 to be delivered on the current contract. “ITT has served as a key partner to the U.S. Army since the beginning of the enhanced night vision goggle program, and we have continuously improved the system design through innovation to deliver the finest sensor fused goggle,” said Bruce A. Wald, vice president and general manager of ITT’s Night Vision & Imaging business. “This latest contract win is a demonstration of ITT’s unrelenting commitment to meet soldiers’ requirements of performance, durability and dependability.”
