Cassidian Appoints New Chief Executive

Cassidian’s new CEO Bernhard Gerwer took over the reins of the defense giant and presented a new development plan and appointed new members of the division's new management team. Gerwert, said, "The goal of this planned new division setup is mainly to reduce complexity, developing Cassidian towards clear accountability and empowerment in order to enable a better reactivity towards market challenges". In order to strengthen the company's internationalisation a "Sales and International Operations" organisation will be created. Christian Scherer (50), former Head of Strategy within Airbus will lead this organisation. All nominees will take their functions with immediate effect. They become members of the Cassidian Executive Committee and report directly to Bernhard Gerwert. Gerwert, added, "I trust that our new team brings together the right expertise and leadership to lead Cassidian in this new setup and grow our company in a very challenging market environment".
