OIL THEFT IN SYRIA

In what appears to be a war crime at worse and open theft at best, the United States has admitted it is taking out oil from Syrian oil fields and using it to pay for its war effort in Syria. U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said that Washington would send armored vehicles and troops to the Syrian oil fields in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of Islamic State militants.

Recent events indicate consolidation of America’s hold on Syrian oil. On November 5th, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported that the U.S. has started constructing of two new military bases in Syria’s oil rich area and it is being built in the 113th Brigade area near al-Sur region.
