Russia will be starting serial production of Kilmov TV-117ST engines in 2018 for Ilyush Il-112 light military transport plane.
The manufacturing will be done by Russia’s Omsk Engine-Building Enterprise, part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) and the Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Center 'Salut' (subsidiary of UEC) has been chosen as the final TV7-117ST engine assembly enterprise.
The final assembly, testing and shipping of the engine will be carried out by the Omsk Engine-Building Enterprise (a Salut affiliate), UEC announced Thursday.
The TV7-117ST is a turboprop engine and a new variant of the TV7-117SM engine, which was developed for the Ilyushin Il-114 regional airliner. The new engine has increased power parameters, higher fuel efficiency and is ecologically cleaner.
The Il-112V is developed by Ilyushin and it is designed for transporting and parachuting of military equipment and personnel, and various cargos.
The aircraft is replacement for Russia's aging Antonov An-26 planes. The mass production of the plane is scheduled for 2019.
