General Electric Wins US Navy Contract To Support F/A-18 Jet Engine Parts

General Electric has won a $147 million contract from US Navy to support 35 F404 engine components of F/A-18 A-D aircraft.

Work is expected to be completed by March 2019, US department of defense announced Wednesday. 

The F/A-18 A model was the first US strike-fighter. The B series is used primarily for training and the C version employs updated missiles and jamming devices against enemy ordnance.

The F/A-18 D model is the current US Navy aircraft for attack, tactical air control, forward air control and reconnaissance squadrons.
