Lockheed Martin Wins $125 Million For Acoustic Rapid COTS Systems Support
Navy asks Lockheed Martin for COTS-based sonar electronics for nation's submarine fleet

Lockheed Martin is being awarded a $125 million contract to exercise options for Acoustic - Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Insertion (A-RCI) systems engineering and technical support.

Lockheed Martin will perform engineering services to continue the development and production of COTS Insertion A-RCI Systems.  A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing, through rapid insertion of COTS-based hardware and software, US department of defense said in a statement Monday.

Work is expected to be completed by December 2017.
