General Dynamics Wins $3.9 Billion Common Hardware Systems 5 Generation Contract

General Dynamics has won $3.9 billion hybrid (cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price) contract for Common Hardware Systems fifth Generation (CH-5).

 Bids were solicited via the Internet with one received. Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 24, 2023, the US department of defense said in a statement Tuesday.

The US Army had released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the CH-5 contract in August last year. The CHS-5 contract will enable the rapid procurement of total life cycle system management solutions in support of tactical programs. CHS provides state-of-the-art computing and networking equipment that improves connectivity, interoperability, logistics and maintenance support to Soldiers, and is positioned as the Army's primary organization to oversee commercial hardware for the Army's tactical network.
