South Korea, Malaysia Add Leonardo AW189s To Their Fire-fighting Helicopter Fleets
Leonardo has delivered its AW189 helicopters to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia) and South Korean Seoul Fire Department to carry out fire-fighting operations in the two countries.
The twin-engine, medium-lift choppers will also soon be delivered to the Tokyo Fire Department, the company said in a statement Monday.
The helicopter is derived from the AW149, and shares similarities with the company’s AW139 and AW169 choppers.
