Indonesian PDTI, Turkish Havelsan to Jointly Develop Simulator for N219 Aircraft
Signing of PTDI-Havelsan MoU at Teknofest 2021 in Istanbul, Turkey, this week.

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI) and Turkish company Hava Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (HAVELSAN) agreed to jointly develop a simulator for N219 aircraft.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pertaining to the same was signed during Teknofest 2021 in Istanbul by the President Director of PTDI, Dr. Ir. Elfien Goentoro, MBA and CEO of HAVELSAN, Dr. Mehmet Active Nacar.

PTDI and HAVELSAN agreed to cooperate in Aircraft Simulator for the N219 aircraft, including Avionic and System Modeling, Flight and Engine Modeling, and Computer System and Interface, the company said in a statement.

PTDI in collaboration with LAPAN has successfully built the N219 aircraft and has officially obtained a Type Certificate on December 22, 2021 from the Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation (DKPPU), the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation. The N219 aircraft is a passenger aircraft with a capacity of 19 people with two turboprop engines which refers to the CASR Part 23 regulation.

The N219 aircraft has the ability to take off on short unprepared runways, which can then help fill the needs of pioneering and connectivity flights in remote areas of Indonesia and accelerate Indonesia's economic growth more evenly. In operation, the N219 aircraft can be used for various needs, such as passenger transportation, freight transportation, and air ambulances.

The N219 aircraft has a maximum speed of 190 knots, and the lowest speed reaches 65 knots , which means that even at a fairly low speed the N219 aircraft can still be controlled, this is very important, especially when entering rocky areas, between mountains which require aircraft with maneuverability and low speed. The N219 is equipped with two PT6A-42 turboprop engines with four Hartzell propeller blades and a Garmin 1000 Next Generation communications navigation system.
