The United States will provide miliary assistance worth $100 million to partly replace equipment supplied to Ukraine.
An additional USD six million from the Countering Russian Influence Fund will be provided for building deployable cyber response teams to be formed in the Czech Armed Forces.
“We will invest the funding into our defence modernization and into further assistance to Ukraine. We regard the donation as a token of appreciation of the Czech help to Ukraine from the outset of the conflict and of our responsible attitude on the security of our country and that of our Allies, and we are grateful for that,” Defence Minister Jana Černochová said.
The Czech Republic is one of biggest providers of military assistance to Ukraine. From the beginning of the conflict, the Czech Republic donated military materiel worth over CZK 3.8 billion. For security reasons, the details of this assistance will only be disclosed after the conflict ends.
“The United States will help us protect our deployed service members, our equipment and weapon systems against the Russian threat, be it technology or information based. We need hardware and software that we will be able to take along downrange. Modern equipment has to be protected equally; antivirus is no longer enough,” Brigadier General Miroslav Feix commented on the creation of the deployable cyber response teams.
