The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they have so far eliminated or apprehended approximately 14,000 individuals identified as terrorists, without specifying how many civilians have been affected.
This figure includes the deaths of six brigade commanders, over 20 battalion commanders, and about 150 company commanders. The IDF claims that these actions have resulted in the elimination of roughly half of the leadership of Hamas' military wing.
The IDF has conducted approximately 37,000 airstrikes in Gaza to date, targeting around 25,000 sites related to "terrorist" infrastructure and launch sites. The Southern Command's fire control center, in collaboration with the Israeli Air Force, has directed these strikes against locations from which rockets were launched into Israel, as well as sites housing security forces in Gaza.
The Intelligence Directorate and the Southern Command's intelligence system have been providing high-quality intelligence to support IDF operations. This intelligence has enabled precise targeting of enemy infrastructure and operatives. Additionally, the Southern Command's engineering unit is working to dismantle Hamas' underground tunnel network, having already dismantled dozens of production sites and tunnel routes.
The IDF is also focusing on locating and dismantling "terrorist" bases embedded within sensitive sites such as hospitals, schools, and humanitarian shelters. The IDF asserts that these areas are being exploited by "terrorists" for their operations, and that their strikes are conducted in accordance with international law to prevent the restoration of their capabilities.
The ongoing conflict, which began with Hamas' attack on October 7, has resulted in over 38,600 Palestinian deaths according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has led to the displacement of most of the 2.3 million residents, and approximately 120 hostages remain in captivity, with some feared dead.
Gaza's healthcare infrastructure is almost completely destroyed as well as its schools besides electrity and water supply.
