Disappointed with Putin, Trump may send to Ukraine long-range tactical cruise missiles AGM-158B JASSM-ER, the range of which covers all regions in the European part of Russia, including Moscow, in addition to Patriot air defense systems.
Trump, who once praised Putin, now openly criticizes his actions in Ukraine.
“I am very disappointed with Putin. I thought he was the one who would stand by his words,” Trump said. “But he speaks beautifully, and then bombs people at night. We don’t like that.”
He also emphasized a transactional approach to military aid:
“We will essentially send them various types of very modern weapons, and they will pay us 100%. That’s what we want.”
Trump confirmed that the U.S. would send Patriot missile batteries, which Ukraine has urgently requested:
“We are going to send Ukraine the Patriots, which they desperately need…”
Analysts say this shift reflects failed attempts to reach agreements with Moscow and a hardening of the U.S. position.
Amid this, Israeli outlets including Axios report the U.S. may supply Ukraine not only with Patriot PAC-3 MSE systems but also AGM-158B JASSM-ER missiles. With a range of over 900 kilometers, these weapons could place key Russian targets, including Moscow, within Ukraine’s reach.
There are also reports of additional offensive weapons under consideration, signaling a broader upgrade of Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities.
Experts warn that Trump’s remarks could provoke a strong response from Moscow, potentially leading to intensified Russian Aerospace Force operations in western Ukraine, where key supply routes and military infrastructure are located.
