Nexter Systems wins contract to supply 20mm gun mounts

In the aerospace field, Nexter Systems today received an order from Eurocopter for the supply of 16 NC 621 gun pods which will be fitted to EC 635 helicopters. The NC 621 pod can equip both light fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, and is particularly well-suited for air-to-air and air-ground missions such as fire support, close-protection or self-defense. It remains the most powerful 20mm cannon integrated and qualified on a wide variety of helicopters and airplanes. In the naval field, Nexter Systems has received an order of six Type 15A naval gun mounts intended to equip light patrol boats of the Lebanese navy. This ultra-lightweight mount combines outstanding efficiency with ease of operation, and the recoil force of this 20mm gun is comparable to the recoil of competing 12.7 mm mounts. It is thus the ideal weapon for interdiction missions and self-defense, especially for small boats.
