Saab Unveils Autonomous Ocean Core Control System for Naval Platforms

Saab has introduced the Autonomous Ocean Core, an advanced control system designed to provide autonomy capabilities for both surface and subsurface naval platforms in military and civilian missions.

This vessel-agnostic system features an open architecture, allowing it to be adapted to different vessels, enhancing their ability to operate autonomously at sea.

The Autonomous Ocean Core offers baseline autonomy, including vessel control, and can be integrated into platforms operating on or below the ocean's surface. The system’s design ensures that operators can continuously add new capabilities without compromising the built-in safety functions. It supports missions such as mine detection and clearance, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and electronic warfare.

This system features different maneuvering modes, allowing precise control and operational flexibility based on the mission requirements. It can be configured in three distinct operational modes, each tailored to specific needs and safety protocols. Whether configured for immediate use or with additional functionality, Autonomous Ocean Core is ready to operate out of the box.
