FNSS has been awarded a contract by the Turkish Land Forces for the serial production of Pars Alpha 8x8 and 6x6 new generation armored vehicles.
The order includes the delivery of 25 vehicles in the first phase, with the Turkish Land Forces planning to acquire over 2,000 vehicles through future orders. FNSS will initially produce the Pars Alpha 8x8 anti-armor squad and armored recovery variants, followed by 6x6 command post configurations equipped with advanced mission systems.
The Pars Alpha 8x8 prototype was selected following extensive field tests conducted by Turkey’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and the Ministry of Defense. The vehicle is designed for all-terrain mobility and is capable of overcoming steep gradients, trenches, and vertical obstacles. It also features hydro-pneumatic suspension and a low-profile design for improved stability at high speeds.
The vehicle’s survivability features include protection against mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and kinetic energy threats. It also supports the integration of active protection systems and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) defense measures.
The Pars Alpha vehicles are compatible with heavy turrets, missile systems, and advanced situational awareness technology. They are also designed to be air-transportable using military cargo aircraft such as the A400M and C-17.
