Has the 'Storm Shadow' Missile Met its Match in Ukraine?

Russian air defense systems managed to intercept seven enemy 'Storm Shadow' missiles on May 16 in Ukraine; besides a PATRIOT air defense system was destroyed by a Kinzhal Hypersonic missile strike near Kyiv.

Storm Shadow missiles have a firing range in excess of 250km, just short of U.S.’ Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), that Ukraine has long asked for. on 14 May 2023: Storm Shadow reportedly used by the Ukrainians to attack Russia-occupied Luhansk.

On May 15 2023: Russia claimed its air defense forces managed to shoot down one of those missiles. According to an official statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the air defense systems successfully intercepted 7 HARM anti-radar missiles, a long-range Storm Shadow cruise missile, and 10 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System multi-rocket launchers along with their projectiles.

Russian state media reported in 2018 that some Storm Shadows were shot down, and some could not survive the electronic warfare systems. S-350 Vityaz, S-300V4 and S-400 are capable of shooting down Storm Shadow missiles.
