General Dynamics Wins $2.5B to build Stryker Fighter Vehicles for US Army

The United States Army has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems $2.47 billion to build upgraded Stryker Double V-Hull A1 armored fighting vehicles.

The Pentagon said work on the contract is estimated to take just under seven years with an estimated completion date of 30 April 2027.

The vehicle’s underbody design known as a Double V-Hull (DVH) was based on the Army’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles which deflects blasts away from the vehicle and the soldiers inside.

The eight-wheeled Interim Armored Vehicle (IAV) Stryker family of vehicles include a new hull configuration, increased armor, upgraded suspension and braking systems, wider tires, blast-attenuating seats, and a height management system.
